A Testimony Of God’s Provision

I remember when me and my husband first got married. We had no idea what we were doing when it came to finances. We were SO young, I was 21 and he was 20. All we knew is that we loved the Lord. We wanted to honor him by getting married and glorifying him in our marriage. While we had the right idea in mind, we had no idea that getting married would test us in so many ways.

One of those ways, was money. It’s unfortunate to say, but we sure struggle and it pushed us past our limits at times. It was an area of our lives that grew our faith so much. Thank God we knew the Lord and had a close relationship with him. Without him, we would not be where we are today. With the help of the Lord Almighty we were able to always pay for the things we needed. We never stopped tithing. We knew even though it wasn’t always easy to give 10% of what we made, the Lord would honor it. And boy oh boy he sure did. When something would happen, we would see God’s goodness pour into our life at the most unexpected times. Offering tithes unto him as it talks about in Malachi 3:10 was a non-negotiable for you.

“Bring ye the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Malachi 3:10

Thankfully we were able to trust that God’s word was/is true and we held it close to us. We believed what his word said. We choose to take hold of his word everyday without letting our faith be wavered. Don’t get me wrong, we are not perfect but praise God he is so merciful and loving. He walked us through each trial and valley we faced in our finances. We knew that it was God providing in our life as we began to see our income increase. He sent his Holy Spirit to lead us through each season and opened up great job opportunities as well! He not only met our physical needs but our spiritual needs by filling us with thoughts of peace and comfort.

How To Trust God Will Provide

We know that the Bible talks about the love of money being the root of all evil. But we also know that we need money to live these days. Not to desire being rich or have fancy things. It’s to be able to pay for the things we need comfortably. The Lord wants us to be successful. He wants us to live comfortably, so how do we trust that he will provide? By believing in the word of God and trusting what it says. Not only believing but really taking hold of it and not doubting it. When we doubt, our faith is weakened. When we pray scriptures about God’s provision, our faith will flourish. We must cast evil spirits out of the way in Jesus’ name. Things that would hinder us from receiving the provision and promises of God, they have to go and have no place in our life. He does not want us to live in days of famine but in the blessing of the Lord continually.

Is It God’s Will For You To Be Successful

Yes, it is! God’s promises aren’t just about money but also about having enough food, shelter, clothing, and salvation. 1. This was such an encouraging read. Love all the scriptures you shared and need to write them all out. Blessings!

  2. Great and uplifting reminder of God’s goodness to those who love and seek Him. Sometimes He puts us in situations (and sometimes we do it to ourselves in error) so that we can realize that we NEED HIM but also to GROW OUR FAITH in order to go through the next and bigger door He has waiting for you.

  3. This is really uplifting; thank you so much for putting these passages together. I think one of the biggest things I need to continuously remind myself is that God wants good for me. He wants me to be successful! And that might look different from what I think success looks like- that’s also something to remind myself. Thank you for the post!

    1. Hi Sadie,

I hear you on that! Sometimes what success looks like in the eyes of the world is different in God’s eyes. I had a hard time when we first go married and the idea of being “successful” seemed so far from where we were but praise God he glorified himself more than I would have imagined! I pray God’s favor in your life in Jesus name
